Information we collect

TaipeiFlix does not ask you to provide personal information. The app requests movie, theater, showtime, poster, and film-detail data from the TaipeiFlix backend.

When you choose a showtime or visit a cinema booking site, TaipeiFlix records an anonymous handoff event. It may include the movie, cinema, selected date and time, destination website, app platform, and the screen where the link was opened. These events help us understand whether booking links work and do not include an account, cookie, device identifier, advertising identifier, or precise location.

TaipeiFlix also records a small set of anonymous product events, such as opening a movie, viewing showtimes, sharing a listing, or starting a listing correction. These events may include the listing, selected date, result count, screen, and campaign tags included in a link (for example, UTM source, medium, and campaign). They do not include an account, cookie, device identifier, advertising identifier, or precise location.

Like most web services, the backend may process standard request metadata such as IP address, request path, timestamps, user agent, and basic rate-limit information for security, reliability, abuse prevention, debugging, and service operations.

Location

The web and native iOS apps request location only after a user explicitly chooses location-based theater sorting. Location is used on the device to calculate distances to cinemas and is not sent to the TaipeiFlix backend or included in analytics events.

Tracking and advertising

TaipeiFlix does not track users across apps or websites, does not sell personal information, and does not show targeted advertising. On the website, the anonymous page-view, ticket-handoff, and product events described above are also processed by Umami Cloud as TaipeiFlix's analytics service provider. Umami does not use cookies, fingerprint visitors, collect personal information, or track people across websites. TaipeiFlix disables automatic event capture, session replay, heatmaps, and performance capture.

Data sharing

TaipeiFlix uses external movie and poster data providers to retrieve film information. Requests to the TaipeiFlix backend may trigger server-side requests to those providers. TaipeiFlix does not intentionally send your personal information to those providers.
